Child Protection Policy for MKM Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Recovery Studio

1. Purpose The purpose of this policy is to ensure the safety and well-being of all children participating in activities at MKM Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Recovery Studio. We are committed to providing a safe environment where children can learn and practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu without fear of harm or abuse.

2. Scope This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, parents, and participants at MKM Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Recovery.

3. Definitions

  • Child: Any person under the age of 18.
  • Abuse: Any form of physical, emotional, or sexual harm or neglect.

4. Responsibilities

  • Staff and Volunteers: Must undergo background checks and receive training on child protection.
  • Parents and Guardians: Should be aware of this policy and support its implementation.
  • Children: Should be encouraged to speak up if they feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

5. Code of Conduct

  • Treat all children with respect and dignity.
  • Avoid one-on-one situations with children unless necessary and ensure visibility.
  • Do not engage in inappropriate physical contact or communication with children.
  • Report any suspicions or allegations of abuse immediately.


6. Reporting Procedures

  • Any concerns or allegations should be reported to the Child Protection Officer (CPO) immediately.
  • The CPO will document and investigate all reports, maintaining confidentiality.
  • If necessary, the CPO will contact local authorities or child protection services.


7. Training and Education

  • All staff and volunteers will receive regular training on child protection policies and procedures.
  • Parents and children will be informed about the policy and how to report concerns.


8. Monitoring and Review

  • This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective and up to date.
  • Feedback from staff, parents, and children will be considered in the review process.
